Mongolian Ping Pong (2005)

A boy finds a ping pong ball, doesn't know what it is attempts to figure it out.

Rating: 7/10

The Good:
-It shows the environment and you can appreciate simple things.
-The whole thing is innocent in the sense that he doesn't know what this little ball is, and even though it's just a random object it is what pushes him to do the things he does and basicailly gives him a purpose. It shows how simple humans are and at first one may think how dumb this may be to 'worship' this ball, but everyone goes though something similar and it gives this outlook on humanity in general -how people are either afraid or more curious about things they don't know (like how old tribes would worship the sun becuase they could not understand what it was). This could be disected further much like anything out there but to watch this movie you much understand that not only is it from a child's point of view but it also reminds us that we all got this 'stuff' we consider sacred to ourselves even though most of the time it's no different than his ball and we are really quite simple creatures that have a need for constant curiosity and answers.

The Sucketh:
-This film is really slow and a lot of people would probabaly not make it past the first half hour.
-For real city folk this could be quite a shocker seeing that there's actually people out there without tv sets and electricity for that matter.
-I don't remember there even being an OST, it has a lot of patches of silence which fit this film but once again many people may find it boring.
-There doesn't seem a climax, it's quite like a day in the life of type of story, so it's quite dull in that sense.

Singh is Kinng (2008)

The main character is send away from his village in order to bring back another and in this proccess accidently gets his post of the king of the underworld.

Rating: 8/10

The Good:
-It's a cute story with a happy ending where even the bad guys get something out of it
-It has a moral that teaches people kindness and forgiveness.
-the main character is funny, clumsy oaf and yet still manages to get the girl. Shows you that the nice guys do win in the end.
-For those who don't know, typical bollywood films have random dance breaks in them. In some films it sucks and most songs sound the same even if you understand the language, but this one actually had catchy tunes and the OST in general was good.

The Sucketh:
-It's predictable..but what isn't nowadays?
-The usual fair bit of cheesiness that comes with bollywood (but it's the good kind of cheesy in my opinion...probably not to someone who is used to high budget hollywood though)
-There was a song with snoop dog which probably was just there for publicity. Quite random.

If you don't like bollywood or have yet to give it a try, this is one to start of with in the comedy genre (if you want the soppy kinds- go watch something with SRK instead of Akshay Kumar). There has been controversites concering the religions aspects of this film, but I personally don't see why those details matter for it's just a movie and the whole point of it is that it has a moral to be a nice person and whatnot so if anything those people should be appreciative.

Game of Death (1978)

Just another film where Bruce Lee kicks the bad guys' asses.

Rating: 6.5/10

The Good:

-It's always entertaining to see Bruce Lee kick Ass.

-So the movie isn't all that great but it's his last one and the last few fighting sequences are worth it.

-This is the one with the yellow jumpsuit, all other films are of him usually wearing a same outfit throughout the whole film so we get to see a bigger wardrobe.

-For those who can't tell a difference between Asians, then this might not be such a bad film (you will understand in the below section)

The Sucketh:

-A lot of things..mainly because Bruce Lee is actually only in some scenes that last no more than 5 minutes of the movie. (That's right, for those of you who didn't know he's not in this film. They did film more than half of it with him but the company 'misplaced' a bunch of their stuff and so most of it got lost, Bruce Lee died and the the entire movie is using stunt doubles that wear sunglasses or don't face the screen or simply are too far away for you to be able to see if that really is him or not. When they do show shots of him it is of close ups from his other films. The only real part of him in this film is near the very end, where he is with the jumpsuit- which explains why it's so popular)

here is a perfect example of what had been done in this film (which is quite interesting as it shows it could lead way to new thing where people can create whole films just by editing and re-editing existing movies and create new ones with actors that are long gone, and then once technology gets even further, the actors could be made with CG animatoin but more realistic looking ooooh who knows): a fake movie trailer that is made up of bits and pieces of other films.

-I don't know if this is good or bad but it's weird. They showed Bruce Lee's actual funeral in this film.

-For those convinced that Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) was killed not by accident, this film seems to a foreshadowing to his death if anything, gave the killer an idea.
